When do free daily prank calls reset?

Ruse resets the free daily allowance at 5:00 AM Eastern Time for everyone at the same moment. This is not a rolling 24-hour timer tied to your last call, and it is not midnight in your device's timezone. The Eastern-time rule also follows daylight saving time, so a user in another region may see the reset at a different local clock time during the year.

The app shows whether today's free call is available and when the next one arrives in your local time. You do not have to calculate time-zone offsets manually. If the badge says zero, returning after the next reset restores one daily call. If it says one, you can use it now or save it until later in the same window.

Your first daily prank call has extra protection

Protected does not mean unlimited redials. It means certain short or unsuccessful outcomes can be retried within the defined attempt cap, including one eligible brief connected outcome. There is no retry attached to those later daily calls.

That is why timing matters more than speed. Choose a friend who is likely to be available, check the number, and start when they usually pick up personal calls. The badge means the daily entitlement is available, not that the next call necessarily uses it. Your paid or referral call has its own retry behavior.
