The receiving carrier decides how caller information is displayed. The screen may show the service number, a geographic label, a carrier-generated warning, or another network label. No calling website can guarantee the exact presentation across every carrier and handset.
Why use a service number?
A valid outbound number allows telephone routing, status callbacks, reputation controls, and blocked-number handling while keeping the Ruse user’s verified personal number out of the caller-ID field.
Can the recipient call it back?
Do not assume a service number behaves like a private personal line. The number belongs to the platform’s calling setup, and inbound behavior can differ. The prank should end with a reveal rather than relying on caller-ID secrecy.

How to improve the chance an unknown call gets answered
Timing matters more than trying to manipulate caller ID. Call when the recipient normally answers personal calls, avoid very early or late hours, and do not send repeated attempts close together.
